The Old Rectory is a beautiful wedding venue in Sheffield located in the heart of Handsworth. Set behind St Mary’s Church, this grade two listed building is fabulous place to hold your wedding day.
Our venue is self-contained and can be booked exclusively, giving you private use of the space for your celebrations. We have a variety of event spaces in different sizes, private outdoor seating areas and onsite parking for your guests.
The Old Rectory is a flexible space that can be styled to suit your day, whether you are planning a traditional wedding or something a little different.

Wedding Ceremonies
We are licensed to hold civil ceremonies, with a choice of spaces to suit your guest numbers. Larger ceremonies can take place in our Main Hall, or for a smaller and more intimate celebration, you can choose our Ballifield Room or Orgreave Room. Ceremonies can be celebrant-led, or you can book a registrar through Sheffield Registry Office. If you would prefer a traditional Church service, St Mary’s Church is just next door.
Wedding Receptions
Wedding receptions can take place in our Main Hall, which offers a bright and neutral setting ready for you to add your own decorations. The flexible space can be dressed to suit any style or theme, giving you the freedom to create the perfect backdrop for your day. In the evening, the Main Hall transforms into a fantastic party space, with room for a dance floor and band. There’s also a stage, making it ideal for live music, speeches, or evening entertainment.
